Free workshop: Preventing Identity Theft

Identity theft and related financial scams can cost you a lot of money—but most of all, recovering from fraud can also amount to months of lost time and energy. Join Detectives Zach Neemann and Thomas Lilienthal of the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office for a free workshop, Preventing Identity Theft, scheduled for Thursday, October 18 at 6 pm at Mid Oregon’s East Bend Branch. Protect yourself against ID Theft!

Mid Oregon Credit Union is aware of the seriousness of threats such as phishing schemes, data breaches, and old-fashioned theft, and believes in the importance of helping community members learn to protect themselves and their family members. This timely workshop examines the most prevalent financial crimes at work today, and provides you with specific, expert-tested tips to protect yourself. Learn how we make ourselves vulnerable to identity theft, as well as valuable tips on how to protect your Social Security number and other personal information—and what to do if you are a victim. This workshop is free and is open to members and non-members.
